Birthdays are a great moment to reflect on the last years and to look forward for what’s to come. Normally I would ask God questions about His plans for me. during this time. However somehow I have start to feel some resentment against these questions. I feel like so many of my questions have been so self-centred and it has brought me no where.
Therefor instead, I asked God last night what is His dream not just for me, but for the Netherlands and the whole wide world in this coming year. I asked Him to share His dream with me, when I would be sleeping. And I feel like He did.
I dreamt that I was in a huge kind of high school. There was a program, which had been finished and around thousand young students were sitting on the floor in the gym local. However, the atmosphere was a bit unrestful and they were pretty much doing nothing. I felt a stirring inside of me that something needed to happen. Therefor I stood up and I started shouting with a loud voice, because the space was huge and there was no microphone, and I said:
“Okay, guys! It’s time for action! We are going to divide into small groups! There will be three things and every group will pick one thing to do. The first group will start to speak in tongues. Just out loud, and just do it for at least one minute. If you have never done it before, then this is the perfect timing to ask the Holy Spirit to fill you up and to practise. The second group will start with bringing God praises through singing and dancing and whatever. Just worship! The third group will be interceding for the nations. Use your own language and pray. Lets go!” Then one of the girls came to me, very sweetly, asking me if she could join with the worship group, because she was already singing in a worship band and she loved it so much and I said of course and she joined the guitarist.
I just want to share this with anyone who has a heart for worship and intercession as an encouragement. We don’t know what may come in 2023, but we do know that God is good and God is with us. And just like what king Jehosaphat said: “when we don’t know what to do, we will fix our eyes on You.” Keep on interceding, cause Jesus has already won the world.
